Applications Are Now Open for the Loris Young Entrepreneur Fair!
We are excited to announce that the Loris Young Entrepreneur Fair is back as part of our Christmas in July celebration on Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Downtown Loris!
This unique opportunity is designed for young entrepreneurs ages 7-17 who are interested in starting and operating their own business. Participants will develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers during our one-day pop-up market.
We believe entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation. This event gives young people the opportunity to create, develop, and market something they are passionate about while learning valuable real-world skills such as:
Mathematics
Communication
Creative Thinking
Marketing
Customer Service
Business Development
This event is strictly for kids. Parents and adults are not allowed to sell or market the child’s product or service. (Parents may assist younger participants with money exchanges and similar tasks, but we encourage children to do as much as possible on their own.)
The fair is not only a showcase for young entrepreneurs, but also an opportunity for them to gain firsthand experience in what it takes to own and operate a business. Their preparation, creativity, presentation, and marketing efforts can have a direct impact on their success at the event.
Awards will be presented in each age group, including:
• Most Original Business Idea
• Highest Business Potential
• Best Presentation & Creativity
Winners will receive prizes and additional opportunities to promote their businesses.
Application Fee: $10
Applications will be reviewed by a committee of Loris Chamber of Commerce business members.
Only 25 participants will be accepted.
We do not want any child to miss this opportunity because of financial hardship. If your child needs assistance with materials, a table, chair, or other event needs, please contact the Chamber. We want every child who wishes to participate to have the opportunity to do so.
